Ben, we regret to hear that you had anything less than a wonderful experience with us. You originally brought your vehicle in for a Pennsylvania state safety inspection. Pennsylvania law states that this required safety inspection is either Pass or Fail; your vehicle, unfortunately, failed the PA state safety inspection due to the wheel spacers that had been installed. Because the safety and satisfaction of our customers is our first priority, we provide a courtesy 50-point inspection on every vehicle we service. This inspection is separate from the PA state safety inspection we performed for your vehicle and is of no additional cost; we perform a 50-point courtesy inspection to identify potential maintenance and repair issues for our customers before they escalate and lead to more serious damage to a vehicle or risk to the people entrusting us with their cars. This courtesy 50-point inspection is for the sake of educating our customers on potential issues; the information from the inspection is theirs to act on, and because it is a courtesy inspection, it’s of no additional cost to anyone being serviced by us. You were charged for the PA state safety inspection that was performed as the time and labor our team spends providing this service doesn’t change based on whether or not the vehicle passes or fails according to PA state law. Mr Fraker, you had us special order a hitch for your 2005 Ford F150. It is the correct hitch for your application. You are replacing a factory hitch due to rust. Ford uses special bumper brackets with factory hitches. I explained that the new hitch will work, it will just require bumper brackets for trucks without the factory hitch. I did offer solutions for your problem. It is unfortunate that we cannot return special order items. If this item would have been for the wrong application, they would gladly exchange it for the correct item. I even tried to locate a buyer for your hitch so that I could try and refund some of your money. However, due to the age of your truck, I am not having any luck. I do apologize that there cannot be a better solution to your problem.
